My goal is to learn in a year or two, but I am wondering In what order should I use the above programs, and any other tips?
thanks, btw Its an acoustic, Im 20.
Answer
All the answers are good. As far as the methods you good, Hal Leonard is great. The Berklee Guitar Method I used to teach involved volume 1-2-3. If you have those specific methods, they will help improve any guitarist to improve immensely the very first year.
But as pointed out, Berklee method is good is you already know your scales, and have correct fingering position as well as correct wrist placement. I used those methods but I was there to explain the ropes as we call it.
I started by ear and eventually got the Berklee Method without having any knowledge that I would end there to teach one day. I studied reading and timing and listened to tons of music. When I got to the Berklee Method, I tripled my knowledge as far as mastering the fingerboard with the correct fingering. Berklee method teaches 5 different fingering position for each scale. Once you know them, they are used thoughtout the other keys.
Good Luck.
