What kind of guitar pick should I use to help create a Ratatat-like sound?

There's probably no guitar pick that creates that kind of sound, but if that is so, I am looking for a kind of pick that creates the same kind of tone as using the skin on your thumb. Basically I want it to sound like I am using the skin on my thumb to strum, but using a pick. Thanks for all answers

First, get a smaller pick - such as a Dunlop Jazz II or Jazz III. Then, when you hold the pick, move your thumb as close to the point of the pick as you can without flicking off pinched harmonics when you play.

Occassionally, I play bass with a pick for recording purposes because it gives a sharper attack and helps the bass stand out in the mix. But I don't want a noticeable clicking sound. So, that is what I do.

On guitar, it's a bit more tricky because it's easier to flick off unwanted harmonics, but if you give it a try, it should work for you.

For normal guitar playing, I use a Dunlop Tortex 1 mm pick. There's a big difference in size and feel between that pick and the jazz pick.
