I've seen people talk about having their guitar 'theory'.
What is a guitar theory?

Also, what is a pentatonic?

Guitar theory is learning about how music works and may include notation, rhythm, form, scales, chords, etc. In addition to general music theory, it also includes learning about techniques geared specifically towards the guitar.

Pentatonic is a pattern or scale using five pitches per octave.
