What guitar book will teach me EVERYTHING about learning to play the guitar?

I want to learn to play the guitar but I don't want to use many different things to learn it because they don't all have the same methods. I am looking for a guitar book that would teach me everything I need to know to be able to play guitar like a professional.

It covers a lot more than writing songs, its a good book on learning chords and scales and then putting them to good use. I think this would be a good place for you to start and if you have questions on the material in the book you can always ask here on Yahoo Answers and a lot of know-it-all blow-hards like myself will answer your questions.

Guitar Book 1: How do you apply chords to song and strum?

I have the first Hal Leonard guitar book and was wondering how you apply guitar chords that I just learned to the song and strum. I already know the chords but the notes on the staff change and it makes me wonder. Has anyone else successfully done the books before or have any insight at all?

The notes on the staff don't matter, those will be either piano or lead guitar, what you want to watch is the chord names above the staff and the lyrics below, so you know what chord to play and when to change it. For the strumming pattern it may say it on the page but if not you will have to listen to the song and try to figure it out. Hopes this helps

Im looking for a guitar book only based on Tabs, im not going to learn the notes for guitar because it's practicaly useless if im going to start in a band.

i would download guitar pro from ultimate-guitar.com you can get tabs to just about anything you can think of and the program is very helpful i would definitely check it out if you've never done so

How do I go about getting a guitar book published in the USA?

Rittor Music is a music company based in Japan. They have an instructional guitar book series that they would like to sell in English. The series contains 4 books and can include CD's. It has been very successful in Japan and they have also sold it in Korean, and would now like to sell an English version. All they need is a publisher in the USA to agree. If someone could tell me how to contact a company, or any that they know of would be interested in doing this. Thanks.
