How to get a guitar with my name on it?

Hello,

I really wanna get a guitar my my name written on it and not just get out a crappy ARGOS pen and write it on. Preferably an accoustic because electric guitars are a FORTUNE on their own!

I don't really want a little plate on it saying my name. I want it in big bold punk sorta writing!

You have a couple options. If you want it on the body you would need to find someone to make a custom sticker or to airbrush it on the body. Generally when I see a name on a guitar it is on the fret board and it is custom inlaid. This is quite expensive.

Can you get a patent for a method of playing guitar?

My dad has invented a guitar playing method that teaches you songs unlike anything ever invented..this will put guitar teachers out of business? Can he patent it?

If its using only a specific method, I dont think you can, but you might as well have him give lessons or make a dvd and see what happens. If hes using a system that has something material to it, like stickers for the frets etc., then he can, but Id search around and make sure his method hasnt been done before so he doesnt go get this patent and then deal with legal bs.

Im trying to sell my deap red and black Fender Squier Stratocaster and i cannot find anywhere that will give me the exact price of this guitar or a summery so anyone that can find out how much they go for (roughly) much appreciated.

I would need more information to give you a value for your guitar. The model is essential. Squier makes many models of Strats with a wide range of values. The year and country of manufacture would be helpful. Whether it is HSS or SSS pickup configuration. Is it a tremolo bridge or a hardtail? The color is probably the least important detail. The condition. Is it stock? Does it have scratches and chips? Are there any stickers plastered on it? Is the truss rod in good working order? What condition are the frets in? Does the neck have a bow or twist? All of that you can determine by looking at your guitar.

I just bought a guitar and it doesn't have fret inlays. Where can I find a place where they sell guitar fret inlays. Like the stick ons.

I'm afraid that "stick on" inlays would not do too well on a guitar fretboard.
I found one guitar forum that addressed the subject.

I did find mother of pearl sheet of veneer you can use to make inlays on ebay

However, this is not something you'd just "stick" on your fretboard.

Inlaying MUST be performed by a qualified Luthier (guitar maker), unless you want to F*** up your guitar for good and all.

Stick on anythings would work for appearance , hell, use gold stars or little colored dots you can get at the stationary store. but the minute you try to play your guitar( unless you are strictly playing chords, no string bends or anything fancy) the strings will catch on the edges of them and rip them off.

Now when I was a little kid (8) I took lessons form a guy from the Kingston Trio( a very famous folk group in the 50's and 60's)
He had this funky chord system for beginners in which we placed multicolored stickers on the fretboard about 3/8' long and when placed 6 across the fretboard, completely covered the upper part of each fret.
each color represented a different chord. For instance, all yellow spots were for a C chord or something like that.
I saw them on a concert TV show a while back and the guy still had those stickers on one of his guitars like 25 years later.

So if all you want is a visual reference on your fretboard (aren't there at least dots on the edge of the neck?)

you could take some of those little silver dots from the stationary store and put them in the proper frets, right below the upper fret wire. That way when you play the string won't hit the dots and may stay on for a while.

That's the only option I can think of for stick on "inlays"

What are the fret marker stickers for on an upright bass?

Ok, so i play bass guitar and i am allowed to play on my school's upright bass. There are sticker lines on the bass to indicate certain notes. What notes are they referring to? Do you play on the sticker or next to it? Thanks

Play on the stickers. They should mark each half step of the scale like the frets on a regular bass. Uprights are a challenge but sound awesome enjoy

need help finding out the brand of an acoustic guitar?

the acoustic is red and has a rounded grayish black back and on the left side of it it has a tuner that needs a rectangular battery and the headstock is black along with the fret board
is it really called a sound hole?

You have an acoustic-electric guitar, hence the tuner.

Not sure what the brand is, but at least you'll be calling it by its correct name.

The headstock should have the brand name, or there's a sticker in the body (in the soundhole) that holds the brand as well.
