Buying a new electric guitar?

Q. Does anyone know where I can buy an electric guitar with an amp, some guitar picks, maybe a tuner or something? I'm new to guitar and besides messing with it as a kid, I've never learned to play. My uncle can't teach me now because he is disabled and my sophomore year is filled with classes so no guitar class for me. None of my friends play so there is noone to teach me. So i'm going to teach myself!

Where would be a good play to buy me a good quality electric guitar and amp? Case as well. I'm not rich so don't lead me to a 1000 dollar guitar. Right now I have like 100 bucks in my wallet but I can save up if it's worth it. I'm really wanting to start playing the guitar. Thanks.

Answer
i know what you mean im a guitar player too,i
though myself,its really not hard
Go to guitarcenter,
Their look around and mess with some of their guitars,
since your a starter and whant i good guitar for a cheap price i'd recommend a
Telecaster affinity(squier)
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Squier-Affinity-Series-Telecaster-Special-Electric-Guitar-102320439-i1148535.gc

Or a Ibanez, http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ibanez-GRX20-Electric-Guitar-103557120-i1150594.gc

the telecaster for music with warm texture
the ibanez for well rock/metal music both guitars are great how ever i'd recommend the ibanez.it has a cleaner more rich sound, and when on distortion it also has a clean rock sort of sound it beautiful

get super sliky string they are the best in the world and for only 4 bucks a pack too!
the tuner about 25,if you got a ipod or iphone get 'the epic tune app' its a tuner it works great and its free,
Also get picks, the picks how ever are differnt some better for strumming while others for soloing to other types of music playing,Get a lot of differnt picks they are cheap and helpful

a amp thats good would be a Fender Mustang I

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Fender-Mustang-I-20W-1x8-Guitar-Combo-Amp-106197130-i1557505.gc?&source=4WWRWXGB&cagpspn=pla&=

it has 26 presets some for every type of music to play and you can even connect it to your computer and change 16 of them to the perfect tone you want,it cames also with delay and reverb affects,so you wont waste time with buying pedals.
plus connect it to your computer(the amp) and you have a unlimited amount of sounds and all the effects you can think of,

i think you can get all of this for around 300 bucks i think you might get a discount tho for buying over 100 bucks.

and use ultimate-guitar.com to look for your tabs(song you want to learn)
to learn songs is easy go to youtube and look up how to read tabs,i bet you'll learn to read guitar music in a day or 2 its that easy!

guitar is the greatest intrument in the world to play and it is very addicting,
i am also a sophmore,im 16 and a guitar player and i got to tell you i love guitar a lot.

P.S i think all of that stuff together would be around 300$
but trust me its very very worth it,the best you can get

I am really thinking about buying a 3rd gen ipod touch but I don't know a lot about it. I have played my friends i pod touches but I still havent been able to learn much about it. Can someone tell me the what they think are the top ten things about an i pod touch and whether I should buy one?

Answer
Best things: IMO :D
1. External speakers
2. Apps
3. Most apps are free
4.Wifi Browsing
5. App store on the iPod (So you don't need your computer to buy stuff)
6. It's silver on the back, unlike the iPhone (It's prettier)
7. You can get it engraved
8. It's pretty durable (I've dropped mine at least 10x)
9. Contacts list (In case your phone breaks and you loose all your numbers! Just make sure they're saved on there.)
10. The battery lasts pretty long (Unless you use internet and youtube)
Wether you want to buy it, it's up to you. But I think it's pretty owrth it. It's addicting and the first few days you have it you will not be able to put it down, I even had moments where it would be charging and I would play it by the wall where it was charging. If you have app questions I reccomend Tap Tap Revenge if you're into guitar hero and stuff. Hope you get one. it's awesome ^_^

What are some good 3G iPhone apps to download?

Love the free version of "Words With Friends" app. Looking for more educational apps like these. What are some of your favorites you use?

Answer
1. Facebook

Once an ugly duckling, but now - as of version 3 - a social-network-aware swan, Facebook is a triumph. The revised grid-based 'home screens' provide speedy access to regularly visited sections (news feed, notifications, and so on) and pages, and the experience is such that it in many ways beats the browser version.

2. Gorillacam

Pretty much from nowhere, Gorillacam arrived in December 2009 from the creators of the Gorillapod tripods. It mashes together a slew of features to hugely improve an iPhone's camera (timer, multi-shot, spirit-level, on-screen grid, 'press anywhere' capture), meaning you can bin a half-dozen standalone apps that offer similar things.

3. RunKeeper Free

The prospect of Nike+ but better and for free might sound unlikely, but that's what RunKeeper Free provides. The app uses an iPhone's GPS capabilities to track your jogging route, and provides mapping and details of pace and calories burned. Activities can be shared online, and treadmill runs can be entered manually.

4. Stanza

Kindle's grabbed many 'electronic book' headlines, but an iPhone or iPod touch is a perfectly competent alternative - at least if you have the right app to hand. Stanza enables you to download books from various sources (many of which offer free titles), and you can transfer your own ePub, PDF or eReader titles from the free Stanza Desktop.

5. Dropbox

Plenty of apps exist for transferring content between your computer and your device, but Dropbox is free and easier to use than most of its contemporaries. Dump files you want to sync in a folder on your computer and Dropbox for your device will enable you to access them, download them for offline viewing, and, in many cases, view them.

6. thetrainline

For anyone commuting by train, thetrainline is the free app to beat all others. Journey planning, offline results, timetables and a location-aware 'next train home' option are available via a clean, streamlined interface. The app's not quite as good as National Rail Enquiries, but it is very similar - and five quid cheaper.

7. Skype

It's imperfect and annoyingly lacks push notifications, but Skype is still an essential download. The interface is pleasingly simple and usable, enabling anyone with a Skype account to make free calls to other Skype users and cheap calls to anywhere in the world. If you're on Pay and Go, this is particularly handy, but the app also enables iPod touch users to utilise their devices for calls.

8. Movies

Although some aspects of cinema listings app Movies are disappointingly US-centric (notably regarding details on upcoming movies and DVDs), it succeeds where it matters. Select a film and the app figures out where you're located, lists nearby cinemas, and displays times your chosen film is showing. Efficiency can be further increased by pinning favourite cinemas to the top of the list.

9. TonePad

Virtual pianos and guitars are all very well, but purely digital musical toys are more suited to Apple handhelds. TonePad is the best of them, using a grid-based interface that enables you to turn notes on and off and compose pleasing and harmonious loops; your creations can be edited, saved and uploaded to share with other users.

10. Thomson Reuters News Pro

There are many free news apps, but Reuters News Pro offers a breadth of coverage that makes it a winner. Preferences enable you to tailor the app's output to the UK, and the toolbar provides swift access to news, pictures, videos and stock markets coverage.

Should I get the Soul by Ludacris SL150 headphones?

Matthew

Right now I have the Skullcandy Hesh 2.0 and I think they're okay. I've been looking into the Soul by Ludacris SL150 and SL300 headphones because on Amazon they're like $99.98 to $115.99 when they retail for $199. There is nothing wrong with my current headphones, I just want something better. If I were to get the Souls, I will be giving my Skullcandy headphones to my older brother. I don't usually have money (I'm 15, turning 16 May 4th) but since my birthday is coming up I will have enough money. Should I keep my current headphones or get the Souls (I REALLY want them btw). Thanks in advance.

Answer
Buy Ludacris SL300WB

I have been listening to the SL300 for the past couple of weeks quite a lot and enjoying every second of having these. The outstanding feature of these headphones that make them a high quality music experience is how well balanced they are. I go to quite a lot of live music and when the sound engineer gets it right you enjoy every instrument and vocals on their own and together. That is what I feel listening to these. The Sl300 to me in no manner or form have too much bass, they let you feel the backbone but also everything else.

I have been listening to a lot of my favorites on these which I have heard hundreds of times in order to compare to past headphone experiences. And I am impressed. Crisp, full sound, GREAT vocals, everything is separated and distinct but that works to create a deeper layered experience. I have even noticed some of my inferior MP3 recordings with these more. They reproduced the poorly engineered ones clearer than my other headphones. But the good recordings have shined like never before.

I have been using the Sl300 on my iPhone and Zune. You get 2 cords. Both are a perfect thickness and they really haven't tangled up. The difference is one has a three button remote control for IOS devices and the other one doesn't. You can use whichever cord whenever, but the remote will only work for IOS devices. The remote is handy on the iPhone. It sits close to your head and you can't see the buttons. But various combinations of button pushing lets you pause, skip tracks, fast forward, volume control, answer calls, and ignore calls. Would also be useful at night in bed with an IPad at your feet letting you pause, fast forward, skip scene, etc. The case is nice and has a useful inner mesh pocket where you can store the other cord, airline connector, etc.

The other important aspect to headphones beyond the sound is how comfortable they are. If they are a pain to wear then the sound quality doesn't matter. The Sl300 are heavy...but thankfully very comfortable. You can't wear them running. But kicking back, mowing (awesome with the sound cancelling), walking, house work, no problem. Very well cushioned ear pieces, easily adjustable sizing, and comfortable head band. Sound cancelling works well. I barely heard my electric mower, which is not as noisy as a gas mower but still makes good noise. Around the house I can't hear anything, not even someone next to me. You have the option to use them without noise cancelling and they sound good. Not as good, but better than most headphones.

There is a moderate amount of sound leakage. Not too bad, but there is some. There is also a high low output option. On the iPhone and Zune I have had it set at high and I am listening at around 50%-70% volume on those. They will go higher than comfortable so good sound output. One odd thing I noticed was how thin and frankly cheap the plastic is on the outside of the earpiece where the Soul logo is. Then I realized it was a trade-off to get the glowing effect other reviews have mentioned. You can light up the head pieces and they had to make the plastic thin to make the lighting effect more dramatic. No big deal and it doesn't distract from an excellent pair of headphones useful for almost any imaginable musical genre.

I listen to Bob Schneider, Phish, John Williams (Star Wars and classical guitar), James Taylor, Gomez, John Mayer, Cannonball Adderley, Altan, Van Morrison, Slaid Cleaves, to name a few of my favorites. Basically everything but, ironically rap, country, and heavy metal. But these are, thankfully, not headphones for the rap lover soley but for all music lovers. And I am thankful that I am enjoying music more than ever before with these.

Im tired of my otterbox!!! Its so hard to push the home button and the flaps coverig the charging hole and the input for headphones will NOT stay closed!! I want a stylish protective case that will protect it from a fall and also isn't bulky. I like music and guitars and my favorite colors are black and pink or black and pretty much any color. Rainbow is awesome but if there is any case you know of or have please tell me a link of where to buy it! I have an iphone 4 and either a 4 or 4S case fits it so please HELP asap because I can not live with this otterbulk anymore!

Answer
LOL Yes that's why I hate otterboxes lol

Anyway, I love TPU and Silicone cases, they work the best and absorb damage when they hit the ground and they're usually designed to wrap around the front so it provides a front bumper all in one... not to mention, I love the styles :) AND the price, it's less then $6 for one I'd find in my mall for $20, I love it all :) Here's where I got mine :)
