What Guitar Lessons Video (maybe for beginners) would you recommend?

gunsnrocke

Answer
I would recommend Rock Guitar steps 1 and 2 distributed by Warner Brothers home video. The teacher is a guy named Nick Nolan. I believe these two videos will teach you more than months worth of lessons from an instructor. I've seen a good bit of videos and I thought the Rock Guitar series were some of the best. Just go to amazon.com and you can find them there on DVD or VHS. GOOD LUCK !

How often should I take guitar lessons?

I am planning to take guitar lessons for 45 minutes per lesson a week but don't know how many lessons I should take in all as in not taking any more lessons. I know it all depends on the person's learning abilities and on the lessons but I want to know a precise amount of lessons to take because they are a little pricey.

Answer
That's the problem with learning from someone, you never really know how many lessons you need. Try going with an instructor that has a set plan like a '12 weeks beginners course' because they usually have a good gauge of what you need for basic proficiency, this also prevents you from burning out your wallet.

How many lessons you need really depends on 2 things:

1. The level of proficiency you want, what skills you want to learn
2. How much money you have, how many the lessons cost etc.

So try to find some middle ground. I'm self-taught using guitar videos and books so didn't have this problem... good luck!

Is it possible to find good acoustic guitar lessons on the internet?

Q. I want to get acoustic guitar lessons but with my current crazy time-shifting job it is impossible for me to be available during decent hours. I have heard there are video lessons on the Internet but I would like to get feedback from someone who tried it.

Answer
There are video courses available that you can pause and replay when and as often as you want. It is a definite advantage over a teacher who will be available for only an hour or so at the time and that you will have to pay by the hour.

How does online guitar lessons compare with real life courses? Should I expect online lessons to be less efficient that meeting with a teacher who I can ask questions to?

Answer
I depends on your motivation and your ability to study by yourself.

What is a good place for free video guitar lessons?

Looking for video lessons like Marty Swartz on YouTube. Must be free. Available on mobile devices would be wonderful.

Answer
There does not seem to be one good place. Every learner is different. Since you have decided to be your own teacher, it is going to be up to you to search through the video's and find the one that works for you.
It is also up to you to realize when a certain set of video's are no longer working and to start new searches.
I think the average person who uses Video changes to another at least 10 time during the first year.

I would like to play Indian songs on guitar. What is the best site which list best hindi guitar songs with video lessons to learn these songs.

Answer
If you are a beginner the best would be to get a teacher who could get you started with few songs. There are various sites where you can find the chords like indianguitartabs, guitargaga, rhythemraga etc... You can find the videos at youtube but there is only one I know where the chords and video lessons are available together.
