What kind of acoustic guitar should i buy for beginners?

So im new to the guitar world.So what kind of guitar should i get the price range under $200 or 300. And what other stuff should i get with the guitar.

Yamaha's are really good for beginners and affordable! They have great sound, and look great. Believe me, I own one! Some other stuff that you should get with the guitar is probably a tuner. I have a tuner and a Yamaha, that's basically what you need. But you'd always want extra strings but you might also want to see this.

where can i find miniature musical instruments to put on a birthday cake?

It's my brother's 20th birthday and we want to do something really cool for him. He's like a big music guy, guitar, bass, drums, electric violins, he's crazy about all of them. Where can I find a miniature drum set or guitar to put on his cake?

If you can't find something at a toy or hobby store like that, you might want to try looking in the yellow pages for "cake supply" stores... they usually have lots of similar little decorations and at least some musical instruments. If it were around Christmas, you might be able to find some ornaments as stringed instruments or horns too.

You could also make the instruments from polymer clay (or an air-dry clay if you sealed them well).
Bride and groom cake toppers are made from polymer clay all the time, e.g.... if you want to see some pics of those, check out these links:

If you plug a guitar into an audio interface where does the sound come from?

I really don't get it, you plug the guitar cable into the interface to record, but you need to plug it into the amp to play. Is there some kind of virtual amp that makes the sound or something?? If there is, how do people have such amazing tones in recordings? I doubt some digital amp would sound any good. Is this how professional guitar players record? By plugging there guitar into an interface without using an amp?

There are a few ways you can do it.

One is by using software on the computer to give you the sound you want. Programs such as Amp Farm and AmpliTube can replicate the sound of pretty much any guitar amp that has ever been built. It lacks some of the "feel" of playing through a real amp, but only a professional musician or sound engineer will be able to tell the difference.


Another way is to use the "line out" feature found in most decent amplifiers. What that does is send the signal from the guitar to the pre-amp, and then it bypasses the power amp section and sends the signal to an outside power source. You can send it into a computer for recording, or if you are playing live you can send the signal straight to the PA, bypassing your amp's own power section and speakers. Doing that lets you capture the tone of your amp without any outside interference. The only downside is you will need some sort of speaker emulator program to replicate how your amp sounds in the room with you. This is because the type of speakers you run your amp through have a lot more effect on the amp's sound than most people realize.

A 3rd way, which is a more recent development and isn't found on very many amps yet, is to run a USB cable straight from your amp to the computer, bypassing an audio interface altogether. This feature is mostly found on digital modeling amps such as the Fender Mustang or Line 6 Spider. In that case, you are essentially doing the same thing as using amp duplication software, but having it built into an amp gives you physical knobs to tweak your settings with, which a lot of musicians prefer.

And most professional guitarists still do it the old fashioned way. They plug into their favorite amp and put a microphone in front of it in a studio.

Audio interfaces are more intended for people who want to record their music, but don't have the luxury of access to a recording studio (which is very expensive if you are renting time). They are also useful for a guitarist who wants to record a part he wrote before he forgets it, so he plugs into a laptop and records it right then and there.

How can I get garageband to pick up my guitar to usb cable?

I have a stealthplug cable that goes from 1/4 guitar cable to usb and I know the mac is picking it up because the cable has a built in volume control and I can change the volume on the computer with it. However when I go to select the input I only get the mic on the computer. Help?

Are you sure it is Mac comparable? Not all guitar devices are comparable with a Mac computer.

How should I display my video game controllers ?

I have lots of video game controllers from different systems and different games (Scene It controllers, Lips microphones, Guitar Hero guitars etc)
I'm looking for a way to put them "away"/on display yet have them still be accessible for whenever we want to play the games. Any ideas on what to do? I don't want them just piled up in a box...They cost a lot of money and we play them often so I'd like to them in good shape obviously. Any ideas would be GREAT!!

anyone handy enough to build a sweet case for them? mini guitar stands for the guitars? im envisioning something kind of like a hose reel so the cords dont get tangled up.

or you could get one of those shoe organizers that hangs on the back of the door and put all them in there. that doesnt really solve the guitars but it gets your microphones and scene it stuff off the ground.

What you're thinking of is called color-coated strings. Not many companies make them, and they're a little more expensive than normal, but a company called DR makes great colored strings. I didn't find any in baby blue, but I found a couple of others you might like. Here are some links:
