What kind of Gibson Electric Guitar would this be?

Sorry I can not post a pic yet but maybe you could at least narrow it down. It is a gibson electric guitar. Black, but it only has 2 knobs for volume and tone. It is a lower end gibson and I remember getting it as a gift a few years ago. I am sure a few hundred was paid for it.
I don't think it is an SG. The body is pretty generic for electric guitars and the tips are smooth and round instead of coming to points like the SG. It is not symmetrical.

Is the top arched? It might be an Epiphone Les Paul.

Is it a double cutaway with a very flat top? It might be an SG.

Have you visited the Gibson website and looked at their photos?

Hey... flat top with single cutaway? Might be a Melody Maker!
