i dont have landline broadband - only mobile 3 broadband - so i can't use xbox live.
Is there a way of downloading (for example) songs for guitar hero, on my laptop, then transferring them onto my xbox via a USB flash drive or something?
its not a stupid question if you have a ps3, where it IS possible.
So xbox's are just not as good really?
Answer
The best you can do is to use the online marketplace at http://marketplace.xbox.com to queue up the downloads, but your Xbox has to be connected to Live to download them as they get licensed to the specific console as they are downloaded.
It might be possible that you could share the mobile connection through your laptop and make it available to the 360 for this; I wouldn't use it to play games perhaps, but grabbing DLC should be OK.
I know on the PS3 store you can see what's available, but I've never tried purchasing through the web and then copying it over. It strikes me as being too easy to get content without paying for it if they allowed this. (I'm not saying you can't, just that I don't know how as I just buy straight through the 360 or PS3).
