I would like to know how I can bejewel my guitar. I want to use rhinestones but I dont know what kind of glue to use or if it would effect the sound of the guitar?
So I want to bejewel my guitar. I mean with Rhinestones and Glue, and they would be completely covering the guitar's surface, but what kind of glue would I need so that it would make it sound weird. Will it make it sound weird?

Answer
I want to do the same thing! But now I'm worried it's gonna affect the sound too....dang it! I have this ugly circle "decoration" that came on my guitar (a $60 one of ebay lmao) and I want to get rid of it by rhinestoning it. I've been googling and it looks like you can buy rhinestones a rhinestone glue (yes, actual glue specifically made for rhinestone application) from any craft store or online. I'm really considering doing this but I really really hope it doesn't affect the sound.

Taylor Swift supposedly rhinestoned her own guitar with glue and rhinestones (http://media.photobucket.com/image/taylor%20swift%20sparkly%20guitar/allenaw88/taylorswift07_3_v_e.jpg)...and I don't know if it affected the sound of her guitar or not but she still plays with it on stage and everything so I'm guessing not....

I don't know yet. But good luck and have fun rhinestoning!

Do you know a good way to hang an electric guitar on the wall?

For decoration, but also easy to take down to play.

Any ideas?

Answer
You might think of getting an old guitar case, decorating it on the inside and screw it to the wall like a frame for the guitar. Inside of the case, you could get some of those hangers people were talking about to hold it in the case OR install a couple of "L" shaped swivels to lock it in place.

Maybe a clear fold down acrylic piece piece could be made to hold it in.

Sounds like a fun project. GOOD luck

Is there, like any special guitar decorations that i could decorate my guitar with? My guitar is sooo plain and boring, and i just wanted to spice it up a bit =P But i dont want to wreck its sound....

Answer
If you really want to spice your guitar up a bit ... learn to play better, that'll spice both you and it up.
Also, you could hang something from the headstock just above the nut. Autographs from your favorite stars will really spice it up too. Stickers won't hurt the sound any, just make sure they can be removed later if it's an expensive guitar.

Answer
you can buy a wall mount that works just like a regular guitar stand except it is bolted on to your wall at most stores where you purchase your guitars. it should run you about 15-20 bucks.

What is the use of bass guitar in music?

guitar decorations
on Hannah Montana Electric Guitar Cake

Mr. Floyd

I think bass guitar is an excellent instrument but I never understood what purpose it plays in music. Especially rock music.
I mean, guitar gives the song the whole feeling, drums provide a beat. What does a bass do?

Answer
Depends a bit on the genre and the song and the band and the talents associated with the band. Traditionally in Rock and Blues think of a song like a building. The drums are normally the stone on which the foundation sits, the bass the foundation and the rest of the instruments build upon those 2. The bass translates beat to the guitarist(s) and often the singer is listening more to the bass than the drums as well. The bass feeds back the other way also, the bass is the way the guitarist talk to the drummer.

Melodically the bass is frequently used to provide continuity to the sound. This allows the guitars to go into abstracts, leads and other patterns without leaving the listener feeling like the song is skipping.

The bass is the low end of the sound. Balances with the other instruments.

The bass is the driver. When you see heads a nodding or people dancing it's usually to the bass.

An accomplished bassist often doubles as the rythym guitar in a 3 piece outfit. Geddy Lee of Rush for example has such expensive bass lines there often is room for only a single guitar.

The bass can also be a lead instrument. If the guitars are into something primal it's expected of the bass to jump out and provide the decoration for what the guitars are doing.

Are the guitars at the clothing store Ross good?

I need to get a guitar quick and the was the only store open at the time so I bought one there. I don't expect it to be great but as long as its not so bad.

Answer
Seriously... a guitar sold at a clothing store? Would you think that a music store knows much about fashion and clothes or that a car dealership is up to date on the quality of stocks and bonds?

You may of course have been blessed with extreme luck and made it with something that is usable for things other than decoration, although I doubt it very much.

A guitar is not a pair of pants that can be made to fit. If the quality of the guitar is not there, then you're left with a fancy looking and unusable toy, or expensive (and short-lived) firewood.

At least do the smart thing of bringing with you someone who can evaluate the price versus quality.

How long do fondant decorations last?

Breanna

I am making a Hannah Montana cake for a friend....I need to have it to her in 2 weeks. I am planning on making a small guitar out of fondant and some other stars to decorate the cake with... And a couple other items out of fondant also. I am wondering when would be good to make them so all I would have to do is stick them on the cake the day I give it to her? Also, would it be best to make the guitar from fondant or modeling chocolate? Thanks!

Answer
fondant decorations will last a very long time once dry. as for which is better fondant or modeling chocolate, chocolate tastes better than fondant so it depends on if you want to eat your decorations.
