How do you attach the Nintendo DS (original) adapter to the DS and the Guitar grip for Guitar Hero on tour?

I probably sound really stupid but I don't understand how you connect the adapter to the original DS and the Guitar grip >.< The only thing that seems to make sense to me is to insert the adapter into the Guitar grip but it doesn't seem to fit.

The adapter goes in the guitar grip, yes. But you first put it in the GBA (game boy advance) slot. Then connect the guitar grip and put the DS game chip in the correct place. Now go rock dammit.
