why the sound of my guitar changes?

I have a Yamaha C40 spanish guitar,usually i change the strings after 6 months... I use LaBella Concert Edition. the first days it sounds fantastic and great, but within a week its sound becomes mute,is it normal? what can cause this problem?

the strings are streching out. Its normal. You may find when you put new string on you have to retune a lot. This is also due to the strings streching.
