I recently picked up guitar and i own a Yamaha electric and a fender sonoran electric-acoustic. I really would like to get a white stripes blues sound but also be able to play some classic rock as well..Any suggestions?

I love the Gibson Les Paul, no doubt.
But you can also get quite a bit of mileage out of a Strat, Telecaster, and a Gretsch!
Also, keep in mind that your amp and effects pedal selection will play a large role in the sound that you create. It really is a full package deal.
I would suggest finding the time to spend in the music store- preferably mid week (when not too many people are out) and experiment with all of the above!
