The claim on the package is that anyone can learn to play.How effective are these video games,you have to buy a guitar besides the expensive video game! Are they a waste of money?

Wonder if the person above has even played Rocksmith before. I do believe there are easier ways to learn, but for folks that want to transition from playing games like Rockband and Guitar Hero to the real thing, Rocksmith may be just the ticket. I you are not a big RB/GH player then there are certainly easier and faster ways to learn. Rocksmith teaches you power chords, open chords, barre chords, single note picking and tons of songs. Not sure why anyone would say they hate it.
