Does piano music theory transfer to guitar music theory?

I mean if you become knowledgeable in piano music theory will you also be just as knowledgeable about guitar music theory? Does the knowledge transfer between instruments?

Yes. The only difference is on a guitar you have strings (EBGDAE, form bottom to top) instead of keys.
