guitar strings acoustic image

I have an acoustic guitar and "folk guitar strings". If I use one of the folk strings on my guitar, will the sound of that string clash with the sound of my other strings?
Answer
Actually, there is a difference in the strings themselves. Folk guitar strings come in nylon strings and silk and steel strings. Nylon strings have a completely different sound then steel, phosphor bronze, bronze, etc. not to mention the tensions and stylings are of a much different feel. If you have "Folk" nylon strings, you would want to use a whole set. Go to www.sncstores.com and type in the search for folk strings. There you will find a bunch of products and excellent descriptions of folk guitar strings. Do a bit of research and find compatible strings. You can mix gauges on your guitar so that you have a custom set of strings and a custom feel, but generally this is done with strings made of the same materials. Good luck!
