What is best guitar controller to buy for Guitar hero on xbox 360?

I am buying a copy of guitar hero and a guitar controller for my new xbox 360. I have guitar hero 3 for ps3 and a wireless guitar but over time it seems like it is not as percise with reading the buttons that i push as it was when i first got it. Would other guitar controllers do this as well with use over time?
