I am making my very own electric guitar (Gibson like), and I am trying to figure out which pickups will be the best choice. I really don't know that much about guitar parts, so this is also a learning experience. The only pickups I know about are Humbucker's, so whatever you guys think would be best.

Best is really subjective, any pickup will work, but it's ultimately up to you which one, or combination will give you the sound that you think is the best.
You should head on over to Dimarzio or Seymore Duncan's web site, they produce replacement pickups for the LP (as well as every other guitar). What's nice about these sites is they give you plenty of sound samples and descriptions of the tonality of their various p'ups. Best of luck!
