How to connect a Mixer to an Audio Interface?

Hi,
I am seting a home recording studio up and I have already bought an audio interface, but I need more inputs for guitars and other stuff.
Do I use an XLR cables from the main output of the mixer into the two mic preamps on the audio interface?
And help would be great, thanx.
