Will a PS2 Guitar Hero controller work with a Guitar Hero III PC version using a ps2 to usb adapter?

I use ps2 ddr pads for stepmania on my computer. I use a ps2 to usb adapter, but the Guitar hero won't recognize the PS2 guitar using the same adapter. Do I need some keyboard mulator to joystick software or anything like that?

I don't have the answer to your question, but why not try checking on the playstation website, and mail customer support?
