The fret stretches are very long... and I know it's easier to fret if your guitar is over your fretting hand's knee.

But I know popular and folk guitarists play with the guitar resting on their picking hand's knee.

Is this such an obvious limitation for popular and folk guitarists?

Answer
Hey SW

Classical guitar is positioned on the left knee but, if you notice carefully, the person's body is slightly turned to the left which facilitates the playing.

The guitar seems centered and the left hand has to be parallel to the fingerboard which is a mistake , many guitar players make. They tend to have a bad hand position nd never parallel. This greatly limits the stretching.
