How can I plug a microphone into a delay pedal?

I would like to plug a microphone into a delay pedal but need some ideas on how.

most microphones have cords that only plug into PA sorta inputs whereas guitar amps/delay pedals have 18" inputs. So what should I do? Are there converters/cords for microphones that can plug into an amp or a 18"?

You can get a Balun converter, supposing the microphone does not need phantom power.

Otherwise you can run the delay through your board.
