My 6 year old son wants to take guitar lessons and we have an electric mini fender he could use. Or should we get him an acoustic?

Well I started on an acoustic. But I was told you should start on an acoustic. It will built finger strength because strings on an acoustic is harder to push to down. So I say if you can get him an acoustic guitar do that. If not the electric should be fine
