I have been researching that and found out that the makers of Guitar Hero did NOT release information about compatibility of the GH3 guitars with Guitar Hero World Tour. Compatibility will most likely be a NO though because of one change to the guitar.
Contents of the GH3 Guitar:
Guitar
Neck
Wii Remote not Included
Contents of GHWT Guitar Pack:
Guitar (Breakneck), GHWT Guitar, Strap, 2 AA batteries, Sticker Pack, Quick start guide and the Hardware manual
As you can see, Guitar Hero 3 Guitars use the Wii Remote (hence the Wii Remote not included message) and the GHWT Guitars will use AA Batteries (Like the Wii Balance Board). Of course though, people will experiment when the game comes out and their might be an unexpected result.
