So I want to go into the guitar craft business and I'm just wondering how do you get started.
Answer
There are quite a few schools that teach the art of guitar building. I've known several luthiers who completed formal programs, as well as some who started out doing minor repairs at independent music stores and then learned their craft from those shops' luthiers. I'll post a link to the Google search, which will help you find one that appeals to you.

If you want to test the waters before enrolling in a program, there are guitar building kits available that will give you a better understanding of the hows and whys of guitar construction. Most luthiers I've known were dabblers before they actually studied their profession, so they had a good grasp of the basics by the time they began making guitars from scratch. I'll post some links to sites that have guitar kits, in case you're interested. (By the way, some of the completed kit guitars are remarkably nice.)
