I want to learn to play the accoustic guitar. Where do I start?

I've finally decided to make myself learn to play the guitar. I've been meaning to do this for ages but never got around to it. I've got about 3 books on learning to play the guitar and a dvd or two.. But they all say slightly different things about starting.. Where would you say is a good way to start and where to go from there?

PluckandPlayGuitar has free video based lessons for absolute beginners and assume you know nothing or close to nothing.

It takes you step by step through the basic guitar chords one by one. There's also lesson on guitar scales, techniques and some easy songs to play.
