I was wondering, how much better is a $1000 guitar than a $100 guitar?

Answer
Guitars are priced on many upon many points. Often the price of a guitar or at least the bulk of it is where it is made and what it is made from. Cheap guitars are made from heavy plywood and therefore extremely heavy and dense more pricey guitars are made from solid woods like mahogany and generally assembled by hand. Cheapies are also generally made in Mexico or Asia rather then Gibson (Memphis, TN) for example. Extra care is also considered in the making of fine instruments for example Les Pauls have a sustain plate rested in the wood behind the bridge and SGs have hand glued Necks as opposed to machine drilled necks.
