Do amplifiers for guitars actually come with the cable that plugs into your guitar?

It's kind of a stupid question but I've never had an electric guitar, and I've been doing some research on amps but they never say anything about coming with the cable that plugs into your guitar. So do I need to buy the cable that plugs into the guitar or does it come with the amp?

Answer
you can buy cheap combo packs that include a cheap cord, a cheap guitar, and a cheap amp, but when you are buying a better-quality piece of gear you buy just the amp.

A **great** guitar cord with a lifetime guarantee is only about $20

If you are buying a separate amp head and speaker cabinet you will need a speaker cord too. This is not the same as a guitar cord - it has to be made of heavier wire and it does not have to be shielded. If you're handy with a soldering gun you can buy a couple 1/4'' connectors and a few feet of lamp cord 12 awg and make your own. Be sure to connect the same side of the cord to the same pin on each plug.
