How do I start recording music on my computer?

I want to begin recording music on my computer. Guitar, bass, keys, drums (real/simulated), etc...

Where do i start?

Answer
make sure you have that equipment, right?!?!?! then find a mixer..100-300 dollars with an output and just get audacity and you will be on your way.
