I forgot what those things were called but there are these things that you put on the headstock and then connect your strap to it. well i just want to know if those things are annoying and if i should get one or just get a strap button attached by a professional instead

Indeed, you can have a strap button attached to the heel of the neck. That's quite a straight forward operation, but it's probably a good idea to leave it to someone with the proper tools and knowledge unless you know what you're doing.
