I have a Boss Mt-2 Metal Zone guitar pedal and for some strange reason the output jack stopped working. I noticed it wasn't the guitar cables or the amps, its the pedal itself.

I don't have a warranty on the pedal and I don't have money to spend on getting a repair, so does anybody have any clue what's wrong, or how to fix the problem?

Thank you.

Replacing an output jack on this kind of stomp box isn't difficult, but how do you know that the jack is the problem? Before taking the whole thing apart, make sure it's getting power. Does the indicator light come on? Is the battery okay? Will it run off a power adapter? There could be a lot of things wrong that only a service tech can find, but you can at least look for the obvious....broken wires or no power.

To replace the jack, you'll need to unscrew the bottom so you can get to the inside. You'll see the back of the jack has a couple of wires soldered to it. Make note of where they go and snip then right at the jack. The jack uncrews with the large nut on the outside. Remove the jack and bring it to Radio Shack and buy a replacement. Pick up a soldering iron if you don't own one.

There are so many potential things that could be wrong that there's no way to diagnose the problem over the web. Just hope that it's something obvious. Good luck.
