I know that it is possible to scallop your fretboard in order to make bending and shredding easier.
However is it possible to add inlays to your guitar fretboard yourself?
Links to guides would be appreciated as I couldn't find one.

I would not like to buy a new fretboard as it is too expensive, I would like to do it myself, as that would be relatively cheap.

You'd probably be better off with putting stickers and/or drawing on it with a marker. Inlaying requires skill, not saying you wouldn't be able to do it, but it could turn out looking terrible or affecting playability. Google "guitar inlay tutorial" or here's a link to a very detailed tutorial on inlays-
