guitar capo acoustic image

The capo is a little tight but it seems to be alright. I just don't want to harm the guitar because it's my dad's. Will the electric guitar capo harm an acoustic guitar?
Answer
It shouldn't harm the guitar no. They've usually got a slight bit of padding on them. Put it on and leave it for a couple of minutes, play some chords and take it back off, if there's a small indent in the neck where the capo has been, then it will most likely get worse with more use, so if that's the case, use a pencil and a small elastic band and put the pencil over the frets, and hook the elastic band round the ends of the pen and the neck (so it's tight) works just as well as a capo :)
