My question is: I have guitar hero's Xplorer guitar for the 360, and I saw it was compatible with Rock Band 2. But are they fully compatible? I mean, GH controller does not have effects button, how do I activate overdrive on RB2?

It should be the "select" button that does that.
From what I have heard, all instruments from now and in the future on Xbox 360 are cross-compatible between GH and RB.
