I saw a SAGA build your own guitar kit online, and it looks like a fun thing to do. How would I go around building and painting it, and would it be possible for me to buy a cheap locking bridge and install that instead of the one provided?

Answer
You might find the following link useful to have a browse through before you buy that Saga kit as they are not as easy to build as a lot of people suggest.

A lot of photos and ideas and tips on this site dedicated to Saga variations http://www.guitarattack.com/saga/sagasagas.htm
These even have a section on the Ultimate Guitar forum http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/reviews/electric_guitars/saga/lc-10_electric_guitar_kit/index.html
To change the bridge is not a problem if you are into carpentry, you will have to alter the hole it fits into and since the wood is basswood then it is kinda soft so you will have to be careful not to overdo the hole size and of course put any dents into the wood.
