I've heard you need to oil the fingerboard after gluing it to the neck to seal it, or something. I'm wondering...
1.Do you really need to oil the finger board?
2. What kind of oil to use?
3. Where to find it?
4. Do you apply it after installing the frets of before?
I cant find much info on it. Thanks
Yes. I am getting the fingerboard from lmii.com and they radius it for you and slot it for you but you have to put the actual frets in yourself.

Answer
yes
Tung oil or linseed oil.
Any paint store.
After.
Follow directions. Thin coats. Hand rubbed. (lotsa 'elbow gease'.)

None of my business, but you'd really be better off
buying the fingerboard with frets installed.
Those locations are critical, and there's a lot of work
ruined if you get one even a bit wrong.
The 'pros' have precision jigs to get it right, you don't.
