It's my brother's 20th birthday and we want to do something really cool for him. He's like a big music guy, guitar, bass, drums, electric violins, he's crazy about all of them. Where can I find a miniature drum set or guitar to put on his cake?

If you can't find something at a toy or hobby store like that, you might want to try looking in the yellow pages for "cake supply" stores... they usually have lots of similar little decorations and at least some musical instruments. If it were around Christmas, you might be able to find some ornaments as stringed instruments or horns too.
You could also make the instruments from polymer clay (or an air-dry clay if you sealed them well).
Bride and groom cake toppers are made from polymer clay all the time, e.g.... if you want to see some pics of those, check out these links:
