Hey everyone! I've just been assigned a project in my college math class Survey Of Mathematics and i'm having lack of ideas. We can choose any topic as long as we can apply some sort of college level math to that topic. I would like to do it on guitars (any aspect i.e. guitar building, playing, writing, etc) but i can't think of anything. Could someone help me out please.

Answer
guitars have 5 strings and 6 frets?.. u can talk about the distance of your fingers to one another as you play the different notes... talk about the angle of the guitar to your lap... or the angle of your fingers to the strings to differentiate high versus low pitched-sounds.... you can also talk about the guitar being tangent to your lap as the best position... i honestly don't know how to play a guitar, but i guess you get my point already... i know a whole lot about math though.. good luck on your term paper... i think it's pretty creative to incorporate music in math!!!
