There is some guitar accessory that you can hook up to an electric guitar and it sounds like other instruments are being played. What is that piece of equipment called.

Are you talking about a Stompbox? (also called FX, FX pedals, pedals)
Maybe an onboard Preamp? Wah Pedal? Effects Chain? Be a little more specific.

EDIT: Oh, wait! I know! It's that thing they put in some amps and FX that adds a rhythm guitar to what you are playing! Can't recall the name though. rawr.....
